01 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK

A voice shaped
by experience.

Salomey Akpovwerha Eferemo · Nigerian media executive, producer and public-health advocate.

Media was the beginning.

Salomey’s career began at the Nigerian Television Authority in 1983, working in television production and acting. Over the decades that followed, she moved into programme development, creative direction and broadcast leadership.

Her experience includes senior roles at DAAR Communications / AIT, Consolidated Media Associates and KAFTAN TV. She has worked on national television programmes, entertainment productions and major live events, including FIFA tournament production in Nigeria.

Communication became the bridge.

Through Water Lilies Nigeria Limited, she brings media production and strategic communication to public-interest work. Her health communication connects institutions, specialists and communities through television, documentaries and advocacy campaigns.

Her involvement in cancer advocacy grew from an encounter with the Partnership for the Eradication of Cancer in Africa in 2013. She has since contributed to cervical-cancer prevention and patient advocacy, including through the Inspire2Live network.

The work continues.

Today, she produces and hosts The Health Show on NTA News 24 and serves as Founder and Convener of The Capital Health Awards. Across these platforms, the connecting thread is clear: use communication to inform people, convene communities and recognise service.
